The Village Wa Tu Tu was designed by Joe Coe AIA, Frank Urrutia , Karen Sausman and Matt Estrin, with landscaping design and installations by Kirk Anderson. GL Scrivens provided all framing and carpentry on the log structures, creating one of the park's favorite tourist attractions. "It was a challenge to hide the steel and the fire sprinklers, particularly since California required structural components in what is supposed to look like a traditional 'Mud Hut Village," says Greg Scrivens.
